Jody Benz of Des Moines Iowa wanted to help The Freedom Quilts project.
She contacted the Capitol View Elementary school to see if they would like to be
involved with a quilt project she had in mind. They were thrilled to be asked and
very willing to help. There were 670 students in K-5 so the decision was made to
make 6 quilts -- one from each grade.

This students inspiration may have come from her t-shirt
So the students could have a memento of the Freedom Quilts project they
helped with, Jody assembled a wall hanging made up of six blocks -- each one matches
one of the blocks in each of the quilts. The wall hanging has been presented to the
Capitol View Elementary school
