Sgt. Luis A. Montes
Army Sgt. Luis A. Montes 22, of El Centro, Calif. was assigned to 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. He died Sept. 7 2006 in Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, of injuries sustained Sept. 1 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Abu Ghraib, Iraq.
