Sep 9, 2003 I was honored by loving and caring ladies that came to help me sew. Jeanine Waal, Wilma Ver Steegh, and Linda Binns were from Oskaloosa, Iowa and Leona Vandevoort from Leighton, Iowa. They brought with them 55 completed quilts. They were finished and ready for Dennis and me to log and box for our next trip. They also brought food so I didn't have to stop working and could keep sewing. The girls arrived before 10:00 a.m. and didn't quit working until 6:30 p.m. We all worked hard. We did take time to eat but as soon as we ate we went back to work. We had three sewing machines going. After lunch was over I took out the other sewing machine so we had 4 machines going. These lovely ladies got 20 quilt tops done for me. We were going to put borders on them but decided to hold off until I got the right material for the borders. We were all tired but proud of how much we had gotten done. God blesses these angels that God sent to help me bring comfort to the families that still have not received a quilt. It's ladies like these that make this world such a special place to live in. Thanks to Jeanine, Wilma, Linda and Leona for a fun day. Thank You for caring and helping to bring some Love and Comfort to the Families of the Victims of Sep 11, 2001. You do Make a Difference. God Bless You

Feb, 9 2003  On our trip to CT I had the honor of meeting two very powerful women, Mary Fetchet, which lost her beloved son, and Beverly Eckert who lost her beloved husband. Both women have given of their time to help other families of Sept 11. They started Voices of September 11th, an advocacy group for victims families. Right now both ladies are working very hard to make sure that the WTC Memorial will give honor to all the victims that died that day. Both ladies are always in meetings to provided information for the families so they will know what is going on. Mary Fetchet a clinical social worker resigned to take on the job of advocate and Beverly has taken a 3-month leave of absent to help Mary. Please go to their websites Memorialfor911.com and see what they are doing also check out Voicesofsept11 You too can make a difference. We say we care, well lets show it. 2,801 loved ones died that day, 19,932 remains were found 1,438 identified and 292 whole bodies. Check their website and help to make sure that Ground Zero Memorial is done with respect. Take a page from these amazing women and help make a difference.

Dec 1, 2002 Just a few days left and we'll be making our way to see the families in NJ. Our trailer is full with about 1200 quilts to be given to families in need. I'll update you with info of our trip and experiences with the families when we return.

Nov 24, 2002 We will be making our trip to NJ on Dec 7 & 8. We will be giving quilts to families at the event setup by Sen Corzine's office. I'm sure it will be nice to visit with the families and give them a quilt that everyone has been made with Love to give Comfort at a time of need.
